In the USA, 'sawmills' are in the 'Manufacturing' sector, specifically
'Wood Product Manufacturing', which includes 'Sawmills and Wood
Preservation', 'Veneer, Plywood, and Engineered Wood Product
Manufacturing', and 'Other Wood Product Manufacturing'.
So, Industrial.
Some of these are vast, square miles of log storage, marshalling yards,
rail works, and other facilities.
And it looks to be that some of these activities also occur on government
leased land in the National / State forest, especially storage and barging
/ rafting for transport. i.e. within the administrative boundary. And it
looks to be that at least some minimal manufacturing activities are
promoted as close as possible to the harvest, as a jobs preservation
measure, going forward.
