it depends on the semantics we imply for our tags. How important is it to know whether it is one shop or two, at the same place, possibly with the same name and operator and opening hours and phone number and address, vs. creating properties for every possible combination and forcing everybody to check not only for shop main tags but also for properties about combined shop types? My favorite example is an optician in Berlin which also sold Polish Deli. That’s 2 completely different kind of shops in one, how many of these do we expect in the world, does it merit its own tag, or can we come up with something more flexible and versatile?
Maybe we could just have a shop=yes or amenity=shop and then have properties for all sorts of specifics?
Cheers Martin
