Or, particularly for WW2 bunkers (& similar), they still exist because the
logistics involved in demolishing & removing them are just too much, so
it's much easier, & cheaper!, to just leave them alone. e.g.

So what does the use of military=* tags only on "in active use" means ?

True, if they are in fact still used, but for bunkers / gun emplacements
such as those ^, that haven't been used since 1944?
