why does one have to authenticate in order to charge, wouldn’t payment be sufficient?

money card is (I suppose) a system for example used in Germany (Geldkarte) where a chip can “store”some amount of “cash” and you can pay offline. If the chip breaks you loose the money (i.e. there is no backend offsite). Authentication is not possible with this system (AFAIK).

see above. A debit card is used to authenticate transactions from a bank account, a money card has the money “stored on the card”

debit

debit

the term “member card” seems orthogonal to the others you mention, because it doesn’t relate to a system or technology. It is used to demonstrate that you are part/subscriber of some network.

NFC is an RFID standard
