Not all routes run between exactly two different locations, see

Maybe another tag would be more flexible.. There is "osmc:name" used 11k 
times which is only very rudimentary documented on
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSMC_Reitkarte#Hiking_and_Riding_Ways
