No dispute there. The U.S. making strides in standardizing national
long-distance touring routes, but the decentralized system below that
level is partly by design and partly because of competition with car
culture, so there will always be some differences. I only bring up the
U.S. situation because there may yet be common challenges in how we
model cycling infrastructure and wayfinding. It certainly doesn't feel
like we've solved everything in OSM on this side of the pond either.

Goes to show that all of Europe is somewhere in the Midwest.
