Dear all

Following the start of the RFC for pipes/tunnels outlets, here come the
inlets.
A similar proposal is available on wiki and regards the upstream of pipes
and tunnels. It is proposed to use a new key, inlet=* to describe how ducts
intakes are shaped or protected.

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Inlets_proposal

A few values are proposed and regards the physical shape of the inlet. This
knowledge is important in water management (among other domains)
It will allow to improve the description of waterways or other liquid
substances paths in the same way as proposed outlet=*

Currently, only liquids are covered and nothing prevent to extend inlet=*
on gases with a further proposal.

I'm still puzzled about the choice of inlet=* or intake=* for this proposal.
Inlet could conflicts with places where sea enters on the ground while
intake=* sounds more specific to mechanics.
Could a native British English person could help solve this please?

Best regards

François
