[Tagging] Feature proposal - RFC - Pipes/tunnels inlets (or intakes?)

As a native British English speaker of almost 70 years' experience (the value depends on exactly when you deem me to have started talking!), I have no difficulty with "inlet" for any pipe / culvert where the fluid, or gas, goes in.
Yes, it is also used for a place where the sea extends inland, but I think that the context is sufficient to avoid confusion. Searches for "inlet" might bring up both, but I cannot think of another term that is suitable.
I associate "intake" with a jet engine sucking air in, or similar industrial application with suction, so it might be applicable in some cases, but I feel that "inlet" would be much more widely applicable and understood.

Strangely both UK and US English use the term inlet:
