[Tagging] Flat area in the mountains

How should I map a flat area along an escarpment on a mountain? In the Alps many of such areas have a name, and here are some links to pictures showing some examples to give you an idea of what I mean:

Pian dell’Orso [1]
Pian Cervetto [2]
Sportinia [3]

Tag natural=plateau has been proposed, but I don’t think it would be significant in this case. I would opt for something like natural=flat, since flat seem to be the english term used for this kind of feature [4]. Unfortunately I’m not a native speaker!
