It's not a terrible question, but as I say, data like these are of limited or questionable value (in the long run), as we don't know how much "weight" to attribute to however many readers there are, nor do we know the "pop factor" that any individual thread or message may have on a reader's ability to be influenced.  This is true of most media, although there are / have been many attempts to "do something about it," such as counting the number of television viewers for "ratings" purposes.  Not to put too fine a point on it, we don't want to get too lost in detail trying to quantify these things.  We might paint in broad brush strokes, but I think that might be as far as we can go without rather detailed tedium, and we don't want to get lost in either the technical requirements nor the potential social rancor that would necessarily entangle us in.
