Simon,
On this particular topic, it’s really time for you to drop your constant harassment.
Could the changes to the wiki that are being proposed here have been made without any consultation and would have been perfectly fine? Yes. Yes they could.
Florian went out of his way to ask nicely first and make sure people agree with the changes.
33 out of 34 people that care enough about it to make their opinion known think this change is a good idea. And the one abstain is only because Mateusz though it was worth pointing out that making these changes is a non-brainer that doesn’t require a vote.
You can repeat your “there is no process for deprecation” as often as you want, but fact is:
We have 100s of tag pages that specific list Status: deprecated, there is a whole template for it that has existed for many years and is widely used.
Then there is the whole "Deprecated features” page, and many many many other places throughout the wiki that fundamentally support and reinforce that “deprecation” is a thing that hasn’t caused widespread upheaval and opposition in the community.
If you feel so strongly about deprecation not being something that exists in OSM, I invite you to go and purge the wiki of any mention of it and see how that turns out.
Cheers,
Thorsten

There is no process for deprecating tags (not to mention all the other stuff that was wrong and a misuse of the proposal process in this that has been pointed out multiple time).
So nothing has been approved.

Hi,
The proposal <https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/deprecate_embassy%3Dembassy> to deprecate embassy=embassy and promote instead embassy=yes has been voted with 33 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain so the proposal is accepted.
I would like to thank every person that voted.
This morning I will update the documentation accordingly.
Regards
