[Tagging] Consensus switching away from mailinglists? Was: Time to split the list?

I imagine the majority who are subscribed to this list will say no, but
there are many who actively avoid the OSM email lists for a variety of
reasons. Polling only this group will not accurately represent the mood of
the greater community. I would happily unsubscribe from all OSM email
lists in favor of Discourse or some other forum software if that's where
the people are and the discussion is happening. Ideally a system that
allows sending and receiving messages via email as well as the web would be
best. The biggest frustration I have with the current email list software
is the lack of an easily searchable archive for finding, referencing, and
sharing past conversations.
