Most air compressors put out high-pressure air and rely on the size of
the tire to bring it down to the correct pressure. A high-capacity
machine capable of topping off a truck tire in 30 seconds can bring a
car tire from flat to full in 15, and explode a bicycle road tire
faster than you (or a shutoff valve) can react.

Conversely, a bicycle-sized machine might take half an hour to inflate
a truck tire.

Some way of mapping intended use would be helpful for dealing with this.
