It seems quite correct to map these gigantic antennas as ways), each way tagged man_made=antenna (appreciate it, Martin!), NOT tagged power=line as some seem to be, including the Australian example given — I'd guess this was done for the sole purpose of "so it renders" which, of course, is frowned upon AND is incorrect. Ideally, we'd collect these ways together into a relation, I'd postulate the relation also be tagged man_made=antenna and type=site. (Right?) If not type=site, I'm not sure what a better type=* value might be (other than site), suggestions are welcome here.

Guy lines / wires / cables / ropes are another topic. Rendering, as mentioned, is another topic.

576 is a small number compared to the number of ways in OSM, but 576 is a large enough number that OSM ought to sensibly tag consistently on these. We have a good start here. Thank you for posing the question, Clifford.

Another fine suggestion, even WITH a glass of wine, as our data could use some better restructuring of these important concepts and OSM key-value pairs. Care for a little project, anybody?! (With <600 ways, I do think it would be fairly small).

I thank Clifford for posing the topic and the list for allowing me to "bridge a recollection" (antenna guy wires I mapped years ago), expanding some good dialog, and gaining something closer to agreement and perhaps even actual answers.
