Hi all,
How should one tag honesty boxes? ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honesty_box )
> An honesty box is a method of charging for a service such as admission or car
> parking, or for a product such as home-grown produce and flowers, which relies
> upon each visitor paying at a box using the honor system. Tickets are not
> issued and such sites are usually unattended. … Such boxes are typically used
> in rural areas where the low number of customers and other visitors, along with
> the low quantity or value of the products on offer, means that an attendant
> would not bring a positive return on investment
When hiking in Schwarzwald (Black Forest) in Germany, sometimes people who produce Schnapps have this. Local tourist information organizations mention & promote this. ( https://www.sasbachwalden.de/Feste-Traditionen/Unsere-Schnapsbrunnen )
`amenity=vending_machine` _seems_ the best, but I really don't like how it says the thing is an electronic device, and often honesty boxes aren't electric. An honesty box tells you something positive about the local people (that locals trust other locals enough to leave goods out).
I can find nothing on the wiki or tagging list.
What about `shop=honesty_box` or `amenity=honesty_box`?
Mostly, the value in a `shop` tag is based on what is sold (e.g. `shop=clothes`) rather than the *type* of shop it is. Hence `shop=honesty_box` sounds like a shop that sells actual boxes. Perhaps `amenity=honesty_box` is best?
Obv., the mapper should add `sells=eggs` or `sells:schnapps=yes` etc. Tags like `payment:cash=yes`, `payment:cards=no`,payment:credit_cards=no`, `supervised=no,self_service=only` (etc) should be assumed by data consumers.
What do yous think? Comments? Ideas?
