You mean they don't have a diameter because they are not even close to being circular?

In any case they will have an inner diameter being the size of the big white dot, which vehicles that are able to avoid, MUST avoid.

The Highway Code only uses the word "avoid" which means to me that they are not prohibited, just discouraged
