[talk-au] natural=wood why?

Yes, the same sort of thought occurred to me - I have added natural=wood to
parts of sydney - then hit really large bit
and though 'hmm' and put it in the two hard basket. I had previously come
across 'OSDM' data for australia that had
some road, some rail, bodies of water etc - it may have national parks as
well. When I discussed this on osm-talk it
was pointed out that at least the road network on this database is not
accurate enough for routing, but that it may be
ok for a 'first pass' of other things. The data was in .shp files and didn't
seem that hard to import
I'll hunt up the location of the data when I am back home if there is some
interest.
