[talk-au] Raw GPS Tracks

Hi All,

Just a reminder.

Please DO NOT convert a raw GPS track into a way and upload it directly into OSM.

This creates ways with far too many redundant nodes that bogs down the whole OSM system. These ways become extremely difficuly to download and edit, and add an unneccessary burden to all of the downstream processing tools.

Please wither trace a new way over the top of your track, or use the 'Delete unneccesary nodes from a way' button in JOSM. This does an excellent job of removing multiple nodes that lie along a straight line path.

Ways with 1000's of nodes are just too long. A few hundred nodes long is a good rule of thumb to aim for.

Regards,
Brent.
