Verizon is about to launch a flagship android (Motorola Droid) handset
on november 6th that Google had a big hand in apparently, even though
google doesn't do handsets itself.

They just announced pricing this morning and is very similar to the
iphone spec/price wise although it has a much faster CPU and has a
phyisical keypad.

Google hasn't released Android 2.0 for anything else yet, although
they released the SDK for coders in the last couple of days so I'm
guessing it will be out some time after the 6th of next month.

>From there it's not a large jump to assume google will put out updated
versions of g'maps app for most/all platforms it currently supports
after verizon gets their fair share of time being king of the castle.
