This may be of interested to Brisbane OSMers. We might be able to help
with NearMap imagery, or it might just be useful to get OSM in front
of people who may not heard of it.

Lots of natural=tree tagging!

I get this spam because I emailed my local councillor once! MPs etc
have an exemption under spam laws.

Anyway, could this be, at short notice, something OSM could somehow be
involved with? I think I am busy that afternoon, but you may be able
to think of some way OSM or its tools can help. Just in case.

Believe you had a meetup on Saturday at Bribie. Hope it went well.

Subject: INVITATION - Tree Audit, Saturday 24 July 2010 at 3.00pm
Importance: High

Good Afternoon Everyone

On Friday, 1st July 2010 I organised with WECA a “show concern” rally
about the chopping down 16 gum trees in front of a new development
site in at West End Riverside Park.

At this rally, I was asked to organise an audit process of the
remaining trees in West End Riverside Park as part of a strategy to
protect the remaining trees.

I support this initiative and agreed to organise it. So I invite you
to give an hour of your time on Saturday 24th July 2010 to document
the trees along the embankment (for starters anyway) in West End
Riverside Park from the South Brisbane Sailing Club West End to
Kurilpa Point, South Brisbane.

Date    Saturday 24 July 2010

Time    3:00pm

Place   Meet at the gas tower so half the group can go down stream and
the other upstream.

Bring note books and digital cameras (if you have one) as it would be
good to photograph the trees. I would love some advice from anyone
with tree documentation skills either before the day or at the
beginning of the ‘audit’.

For everyone who has participated, I shall have an esky with beer,
wine and soft drink to celebrate our hard work. “

Helen Abrahams
