There is a new list for those interested in historic mapping.  This
list is so new that so far there are no posts.

It is hoped that contributors to the historic@ list will have an
interest in historic mapping of some sort, will present interesting
use cases of historic mapping and will assist in solving some of the
perceived (and discovered) challenges of such mapping.
