Hamlets are usually so small almost any place will be close enough to the 'centre', certainly within viewing/walking distance.
For Australia .. most people think of the 'centre' as the post office, in Europe it would be the train station.
Hamlets don't have post offices nor train stations... if a place did I'd be looking at calling it a village.
Are place nodes put on top of these features... or a little off? I'd think they are a little off these 'centre' features.
