[OSM-talk-be] Mapping party Mechelen: printable maps

Hera,
The advantage of basing the maps on OSM data is that it's the same material
we'll be using for editing. Mismatches are eliminated this way.
There's of course the legal aspect too. With these maps, you're free to draw
on them, etc. without risking contamination of the data.
After some suggestions from Polyglot, I updated the maps. They're now of a
smaller area (the part that we'll actually be mapping) and are sourced from
the latest data (something went wrong when saving in OSM). In addition, I've
rescaled the SVG so you can now directly print from Inkscape.
I've made some test prints and this latest version is very usable for the
mapping party. The only problem is with streetnames, but this is a
limitation of Osmarender. I should try getting a Mapnik server running once
I have some more free time.
I could also make a version where the map is on the left half of the page
and the right half is left blank to take notes. Is there any interest in
that?
Regards,
Gyrbo
