You don't need to know the entire route to enter it in OSM, if you know
a few roads where it passes, that's already enough.
You can also add the nodes of the bus stops to the relation (and at some
point that should be done anyway).

I'd stay with the buses from De Lijn, MIVB/STIB and TEC for now. Nothing
can stop you adding the routes you want of course, but it's outside the
scope of the routes I'm targetting. It also depends on how these school
buses work exactly, but I would not tag them as normal bus lines.
