As I am now discussing with the Brussels authorities to get the
traffic work weekly info in a format that we could use in an automated
manner, I have as plan to go on and ask STIB / MIVB to give to OSM the
routes of their network.

As my contact with the Brussels authorities so far have been good and
positive (even if slow !), I also plan to get in touch with CIRB/CIBG
which maintains the Brussels Urbis maps
http://www.bruxelles.irisnet.be/fr/servicesl/services/region/urbis.shtml
as well as with the SPF Financies/Financieën which maintains the
"cadastre".

I consider that as OSM datas are free (with a copyleft licence), any
company who could like to sell proprietary versions of these datas
would not agree with the OSM licence that would not be compatible with
their wishes, and therefore such a company would turn back to CIRB
and/or SPF to get the "original" ones. Therefore giving the datas to
OSM would not harm their business model.

What do you think ? Would any of you consider doing the same for
Vlaanderen or Wallonia ? I may consider later on to get in touch with
the IGN ... if I have more successes in Brussels

Regards,

Nicolas
