[OSM-talk-be] some thoughts and remarks about border mapping

I had not noticed the lf30 before, neither did I consult the wiki for
this. Sorry for that, next time better luck. Feel free to add those LF30
parts near puyenbroeck!

Merging data from one relation to another is fairly simple in josm.

1 open both relationship windows
2 select all members in the list of the relation you want to drop
3 click on 'select', all members are now selected in the josm window
4 go to the other window and 'add' selected items
5 drop the members from the first relation
6 close the realtion
7 through the relation window you can now delete the relation altogether.

For large and long relations as they happen to get with long distance
trails, you might have to download the complete relation in a separate osm
file first and open it in josm as a separate layer

an example of you LF30 in a api 0.5-style URL would be like this.

http://api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.5/relation/31209/full

the full retrieves the ways and nodes also, you might already be aware of
this possibility.

regards,

ivom
