Yes, this may well be useful. The best would of course to use it
yourself as a basis to create the map, but even if you don't, someone
else who knows the environment may well 'see' where you were when
making the trace, and then draw in the road over your trace, where
without your trace they would have drawn it in much less precise, or
maybe have not drawn it in because it would have been so imprecise.
