[OSM-talk-be] one-node way

I was checking out some changes of an OSM newbie (always good to point them
to problems before they edit too much), but I came across this way:

This way has no tags and only consists out of one node. It is impossible to
select the way with JOSM.

I've never seen this before. Does someone know what can cause one-node
ways? This has to be a bug in the editor used.
