Of course there are references to 9040. But this what I mean :

There is no such thing for 9040.
Problem is : you can't edit or remove this.

9040 is NOT hardcoded in Nominatim :
Not sure what defines 'hardcoded in Nominatim' to you. But since it uses
OSM data. I tried a little overpass search, and I sure find instances of
that postal code. See:
