[OSM-talk-be] TEC & Open Data (+ SNCB)

Wow, that is great news. Hopefully they will choose for an open data
license which is compatible with ODBL.

For the stops of De Lijn, we are repositioning them manually before
uploading to OSM. There are 4000 left to do (stops which are served by
buses). The decalage shouldn't be a problem. It is reassuring that they are
using the 'stop position' of their buses when the doors open to let people
board. All those buses have GPSs aboard and they are taking the center of
the 'cloud' of points.
So most of those positions should be quite accurate.

Anyway, we shouldn't 'import' them wholesale as they come, but rather
trickle them in checking them. I hope they include zone information. De
Lijn doesn't and looking up the zones takes most of the time processing
them.

I also hope they will provide csv files with dumps from their DB like De
Lijn does. This enables me to generate route relations with all stops in
the order they are served.

Cheers,

Polyglot
