I like Osmand too, but I find its UI horribly complicated.
I had written this <http://www.papou.byethost9.com/tmp/Osmand_UI/> (in
Dutch, Guy;-) ) to suggest a better UI.
That text must probably be revised.
What's funny is that they apparently did not read that page but that
they moved towards menus terribly like it.
Not a single menu but several ones, though.

FYI, I bought a Cubot P9
<http://www.tinydeal.com/fr/cubot-p9-50-mtk6572w-2-core-android-422-3g-wifi-phone-p-105934.html>
@ 62€ incl. 8 GB TF card (this one
<http://www.tinydeal.com/fr/cubot-p9-50-mtk6572a-android-phone-eu-power-plug-converter-p-108236.html>
apparently without TF and with ugly power adapter).
Unfortunately now ~80€ after $ raise.
No extra cost, if you see what I mean, if shipped by
China/HK/Swiss/Singapore/NL->Bpost in 20 days.
I trusted 250 satisfied customers and I find it excellent except for
photographs.

I extend running time with power packs like this
<http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/121518254000>, this
<http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/171219098225> or this
<http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/291397886298>that I fit with 2600 mAh
Samsung ICR18650-26FU batteries @ ~3€ each (BE DOUBLE SURE TO VERY
CAREFULLY insert
<http://www.papou.byethost9.com/notes/4PP0/#mozTocId612540> those
batteries correctly: + pole towards circuit board; no problem with 12
such devices but there exist more expensive safer protected batteries a
bit longer and with a protruding + contact button).

Cheers

André.
