[Talk-ca] Next road import area

Hi, my guess is that you were tracing the CanVec Roads from the .zip
file i sent you?

If so, the reason it's still in Beta Phase, is that it needs to show
"source=" tags, so people who where you got the data from. Also,
keeping all the UUID tags is important.

For the GeoBase2osm script, that's Steve Singer, and it's best to be
updating the chart as you go along.
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Geobase_NRN_-_OSM_Map_Feature
and following the instructions listed.

I havent yet started actually importing any of the data from these
sample files (canvec2osm or geobaseNHN2osm) because the source tags
all need to be right. I chose "attribution=Natural Resources Canada"
but not sure if it's going to stay like that.

Also, by signing up as a new user (prefixed with "geobase:"), it make
it easier if the data needs to be removed.

The geobaseNHN2osm (National Hydro Network) is still in beta phase, i
should have a sample are posted this week, so people can check the
source tags.

And the canvec2osm script is also still in Beta, this is because the
tags still need to be perfected. (it doesn't make sence to start
importing when the tags are not yet correct)... it would mean ALOT of
manual re-tagging features.

Cheers,
Sam

P.S. (for everyone) would it be better if I not include conversion of
the CanVec Roads as part of my script (so then it's only the
geobase2osm python script that is handling roads?) ... will this
avoid the confusion???
