[Talk-ca] Announcement: Garmin Maps for Canada with CanVec data are available on request

Hi all,
For those of you who are waiting to see what kind of data will be available
for when the CanVec Import happens, I can make Garmin Map tiles for your
area.

1st to ask will get them made for your area.  Just let me know that the NTS
tile number is. (You can fined it on the geobase/canvec website.)

The map will include the full current OSM data area, as well as all of the
map features included in the Canvec set.  (there's about 80 or so different
features).

The maps will be stored on the www.acrosscanadatrails.com server. (and i can
make a link on your area's wiki page for it).

For those of you who are in an area which has not been processed with the
GeoBase roads import yet, i can include the canvec version of the roads (a
bit older, but still useful).  It will be available as a separate
transparent map overlay.

Although you wont be able to edit this map directly, you can use it to find
out what features are missing in the dataset, then work on the osm database
as if the data was already imported.

When i do get around to actually importing the data for your area, i'll make
sure to put special care that i dont interfer in what you have already
mapped. :)  (that's partly why there is a hold up for me starting the
import).
