Hi All,
I have some hiking trails data that I'd like to upload to OSM and I have
a few questions for the list. I have the data in a MTM (UTM) system, so
here's what I intended to do was do the housekeeping fist in QGIS :
- transform to WGS 84
- delete useless attributes and add "highway" and "sac_scale" (can't add
trail_visibility because the Table manager extension in QGIS doesn't
handle more than 8 characters in field names ...)
Then, what shp2osm script to use ? I came across the perl one and two
pythons (shp2osm and polyshp2osm). Anyone has used one of those scripts
recently and care to tell me which is easiest to use ?
Another question has to do with licence. The data was given to me by a
city, so I guess I should seek their approval. Well, I have their
informal approval but I was wondering if I should point them to some url
where they can officially "donate" the data ?
TIA,
Yves
