[Talk-ca] OSM.ca ftp access?

Thanks,
My rough estimate is that each converted canvec tile area, as it is
compressed and contains a copy of the source zipped canvecSHP files, (and
the (.osm files) is that it's approximately 4x larger.
Because updates (of canvec) happen 2x a year, and a full conversion (or
partial of updated tiles) of the data would happen 1x per year, and the
older version needs to be available to compare old with the new, i think
that the files would need to be there for 2 years, min.
This ftp site would also contain the converted GeoBaseNHN data (source files
and converted) as well as the converted files of the GeobaseNRN data, as
well as all the other data available.
Basically organized so that all the different map features (from the
different sources) are all available in the NTS 000AA00 sub folders, for
easy reference. (although the GeoBaseNHN has it's own grid, it may be
better to be in it's own directory tree). (the canada Data Import Status
Chart would indicate exactly where each file is stored, so it doesn't have
to be that precise),
Right now im using mediafire.com which has unlimited storage, and allows for
a max file of 100 megs, so it suites our purposes, but it doesnt have ftp
access, so it's harder to copy files into it. mediafire keeps failing at
uploading. So i'm loading 1 zip file (tile area) at a time.
Someone (maybe you) did send me chart indicating the # of files & file sizes
for the various datasets, can you send that again please?
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Sam
