thats a hard question to answer
re: why not mix osgeo &sotm?

On the #osm-ca IRC it can be chatted about, as we all have conflicting
ideas about this. And at the same time, are all missing pieces to this
geo puzzel.

One reason is that people dont know that OSGeo is all about, so the
spotlight would be overpowered.

Another is that OSM has gotten so big that knowone knows everything
that is going on. So it will still be some time before the wiki / svn
gets cleaned up.

One thing that could be improved is the OSM wiki page that talks about
OSGeo, and what tools are currently in use, and who are the contacts.
And on the OSGeo wiki, have an OSM page listing the tools that use
OSM, and who the contacts are.
