[Talk-ca] [AtlanticCanada] OSM and OSGeo

Exactly,
Although (im trying not to announce this (keeping a low profile) as we
have ALOT of data, but we want to learn from the  USA TIGER import,
where the data was import remotly, and it became a nation-wide
cleanup.
Where we (in Canada) have WMS layers / GeoTIFFs / Garmin Maps which
are all available to help local area mappers (and the data is in small
pieces that are manageable for local mappers.

For this CanVec import, it's VERY important that for the area that
there are multiple mappers that the local community is involved. And
that work can be concentrated in getting the technique down and
learning all the cool tools that are available.   So if it takes a few
years to get it all in, its OK because the focus is on getting the
best quality mapping done, using the best from all the different
sources available.

Do you have a link to share? (about CARIS)

Also, if you could please add your name on the New Brunswick wiki
page, as well as make sure your on the talk-ca@ list as this is a
great way to keep track of who are the top mappers in each area.
(people who can get in contact with the local mappers, way faster than
I (or others) can, and have probably actually met many mappers in
person.  You might have seen where i added in the National Protected
areas in the province?
