[Talk-ca] JOSM Difference?

Bonjour,

I agree with Sam, no easy way to do the job in Josm :-(  

However, I previously wrote ([Talk-ca] Canvec.osm Future): "Canvec and Openstreetmap data will be compared to find differences between them [... Snip ...] future versions of Canvec, including Omission and Commission files, will be made available for Osm community."

This means NRCan has a process that do it for roads. We will start to compare datasets this fall.  The differences found will be made available on the ftp site as 

- Commission files (what is in Canvec but not in OSM);
- Omission files (what is in Osm but not in Canvec);

This process will be much longer that the current conversion process !-) We will start with few provinces - roads only.  If it goes right, we will expand it to all provinces and themes.

I will keep you informed

Nope :)
Painfull copy/paste.
And hide/show canvec.osm layer to see whats missing.

I just work in a small corner of the tile and work my way around, deleting the copied in features from the canvec.osm file as i go, and save this 'smaller version' locally on my computer as a working copy.

The Validator Plugin also helps,
