The interesting comment here is the one about the indemnity provision, it
appears licensing is an issue for Google as well.

Don't rely on Google transit around DC. Coverage is spotty and you're
likely to be directed to strange commuter only service.

Somehow, the meme has gotten around to lots of local agencies that
they should be really worried about the indemnity provision in the
standard Google Transit agreement. We can't get any of them to sign
up.
