[Talk-ca] Fwd: GeoBase vs CanVec

What is the relationship between CanVec data and GeoBase data?

For Road network, CanVec data and GeoBase data are the same with few exceptions...

- Attribute names are different, but the content is not.
- GeoBase geometry is splitted at province boundaries, Canvec at 50K mapsheet boundaries.


Does the CanVec and GeoBase versions carry the same "nid"?  Yes Confirmed 
- Geobase:addressRangeNid = Canvec:ADRANGENID

For a given street segment, does the CanVec and GeoBase versions carry the same "nid"?  Or can you only match on the Hausdorff distance?

(I'm talking about the original data sets, not just the way they were imported into OSM.)
