[Talk-ca] Notes on a Saskatchewan import

Tyler,

   The problem I have with the Statscan data is they have two attributes 
in the shapefile:
NAME    MacLeod
TYPE    AVE

where I want one attribute, and according to OSM best practices, I want 
no abbreviations:

MacLeod Avenue

Dunno what the Canvec data will look like...

> If you are looking to import any SK stuff, I have the Statscan road network data converted to OSM format.  It's set up so that each road is a way with only the name=XYZ, name:source=StatsCan tags.  This way you can just select a road, choose "Copy", go to the Canvec layer, select the matching road, and choose EDIT->PASTE ATTRIBUTES (JOSM) to paste in the name and name:source tags.
