Okay, that was awesome. :-)

Thank you to each of the attendees last night. We had a great mix of
"regulars" and "hopefully soon to be regulars".

Some conversations related to links that follow:

Ian has a new book on Android Development coming out. Preorder:

See where you mapped. Heatmaps:

Changes to our user pages. You can add other users as your friends
through your OSM account. Recently added are the ability to browse
the recent changesets and diary entries of your friends.

Washington DC OSM hack weekend [be there or be square.]:

You can add GeoBase road name tiles as a background layer. Handy for
mapping and re-mapping:
1) in josm, >> edit >> preferences >> WMS/TMS
2) add a name like "GeoBase road names"
3) add a service URL like
http://ows.geobase.ca/wms/geobase_en?service=wms and click Get Layers
4) select all four layers in NRN Street Names and all four layers in
NRN Network.
5) Click okay

Now, go mapping. You can add the Bing imagery layer, AND the geobase
road names layer, then lower the geobase road names layer
transparency, so that you can see both the aerial imagery and road
names at the same time.

Thanks again to all of the attendees who made Toronto Mappy Hour so
much fun last night.

Tonight, Mappy Hour (Coffee Klatch) is in Cambridge. See you there. :-)

Best regards,
Richard
