No way, not agreed.  People have just dropped out from sheer exhaustion 
about this stupid topic.

There has been peace in Alberta for 10 years+, using "NW" as used 
officially by the municipalities (eg my property tax bill), until 
someone came along and tried to change established practice.

Federal gov't data (CanVec, GeoBase Roads) isn't looked upon favourably 
by all of us here.  I consider GeoBase's use "Northwest" to be an error, 
to be ignored.

I shall say nothing further on this.  Drop it, and find something else 
to disrupt.
