And a wider discussion of "trunk definition" enters a north of the US border phase, I'll say as a USA-an mapper here.

I applaud such discussion.  "Canadian OSMers" (however defined) "simply" agree on a trunk definition.

We do it here (in the USA, with our network in OSM), too.  Pass the popcorn.  I'm ready to listen to what feels like it will be a long discussion, as "that's what's up."
