Hello everyone,

After getting some feedback<http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/ff5722/diary/40829#comments> here I think it would be better not to use this data. If anyone is interested in tracing forest areas in China, there is some higher resolution imagery for areas where no Bing or Mapbox coverage is available: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Ff5722/Using_Sentinel-2_imagery

Hello everyone,

I found that USGS has global forest data  that should be suitable for importing to the OSM database.

https://landcover.usgs.gov/glc/TreeCoverDescriptionAndDownloads.php ('use is free to all if acknowledgement is made')

Since lot's of forest data is missing in China, it may be useful to import this if everyone agrees. Many places in China (especially Guizhou, Sichuan) contain no forest data at all, so importing should not cause conflict with existing data.

It is provided as black and white coloured geoTIFF files, I have uploaded one tile as a preview below.

我找到了USGS树林数据，这可以导入OSM数据库。

因为不是很多树林数据在中国，导入这个数据可以有用。例如贵州，四川等等还没有树林数据，所以导入这个数据应该是容易。
