[Talk-gb-westmidlands] OS StreetView tracing vs surveying

Hi everyone

I know that there are strong opinions on surveying being more fun and more
accurate and richer in POI/addressing/bustops/etc detail but given the scale
and remoteness of what's left to be done in the Black Country, I can't help
feeing that we should make use of all this OS data to complete the job and
at least make the map look complete, knowing that we can still survey to get
the detail/richness we want later. OSM in my opinion will always look like a
poor cousin despite its greater content while it's still got great gobs of
white space, when OS data is complete( well as complete as is possible until
we complete the job as OSMers) and available online

I've held back ( well apart from 3 or 4 streets in an isolated little pocket
of Sandwell that's 3KM up hill from the nearest railway station and has
been bugging me for several months!) until I can get your views

Regards

Brian
