[Talk-gb-westmidlands] gated alleys aren't roads

Hi Marta and Adrian

Thanks for your feedback. I've alerted the West Midlands osm mappers by
forwarding your email to our talk mailing list. Perhaps we'll get some
discussion on your comments, and the mapper(s) responsible might correct
the ways. It's not an area of the city I'm familiar with I'm afraid.
Personally I don't map these ways unless they're a recognised footpath
which connects two other ways or a paved service road. Generally speaking
we map what we see on the ground, although there is a possibility that some
of the ways were mapped from bing aerial imagery or Ordnance Survey out
-of-copyright maps or OS StreetView without a ground survey. You are,of
course, at liberty to edit the ways to your requirements.
