Brian, what is on the bid/uk page of the wiki currently is just the musings
of individuals rather than a team cohesively actioning something. A bid may
or may not come together from what's there now but I think we can progress
ours in parallel at this stage and perhaps others will hopefully join us. We
don't need any approval now. If we wish to make a bid then we can, though
obviously our bid will look better if it has the support of the majority of
the UK community. Likewise if others came up with a bid proposal that I felt
was better than we could offer then I'd be happy to let that one progress
rather than hours, though I would hope we can put something together that
would nullify that.
For now I would suggest new wiki page for our bid with a clear link to it
somewhere at the top of the current bid/uk page. Once we have details up I'm
happy to ask those who have contributed to the existing page if they would
like to assist in a Brum bid or not.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy
Are you intending that we bypass the existing wiki page and gaining
consensus from the UK community? Or do the two in parallel? I can see that
gaining consensus would be messy and time consuming unless we force the pace
but I think one country one bid would be far stronger - for instance we
wouldn't be competing for UK sponsors, and there'd be more people with more
contacts to get things done.
Regards
Brian

Looks good for starters Brian. I don't think we are restricted to one
country one bid so we should just get on and move forward if we want ours to
be the one that gathers pace.

Hi everyone
As agreed at our October meeting - here's a proposed text for inclusion on
the UK SOTM bid wiki page. Thoughts/amendments appreciated before it's
published. Ignore the formatting it's a cut and paste from Word. I've
ignored the issue of timing as that's common to wherever the UK community
decides on who should bid,
Regards
Brian
