[Talk-gb-westmidlands] mapping conundrum

Thanks all for looking. I don't think the latest points deal with the query.
The old station is some distance away and I know where the old station
building foundations are so it's nothing to do with that (the label on
streetview is just poorly associated because there is no disused station
actually drawn). The access to the station from the current end of Midland
Road only went up as far as the station and didn't go as far as this plot of
land. When the station was open there was a footpath down from Anchorage
Road but that's long since gone.

The building in question appears to have been initially built sometime
between 1889 and 1903 according to old-maps.co.uk. In 1903 it looks like
it was accessed from a track that basically ran where Rockingham Gardens
runs today and then via the plot at No. 11. All of the building on the 1903
appears in its own little cell suggesting that originally it was all one
dwelling or set of farm buildings. By 1914 the building had grown but it's
even less clear how it was accessed even then. By 1938 the building seems to
belong to four separate plots of land and the triangular plot is somewhat
subdivided. In the 1960's it appears with less detail and many property
boundaries missing in the area, in fact it looks like the whole plot where
the south half of Rockingham Gardens now is belonged to number 42 Anchorage
Road and included the north part of our puzzling building. The south/west
part of the building doesn't appear on the 1960's map.

I like a good mystery. A further instalment to follow once I have knocked on
No. 11!

Cheers

Andy

Also looking at the historic maps there looks like there's been building
there for quite some time. Midland Road seems to have continued along by the
railway line and up to the end of this properties garden.
