Ooh, controversial. There's even bigger problems with naming Scottish
mountains, some of which were (seemingly) arbitrarily named by the OS
way-back-when with complete disregard to their original (often gaelic)
locally accepted names.

I'd go for the moving average on any signposts (there'll probably be
disagreement between some of them) in the vicinity - similar to the
way we use signposts for asserting rights of way.
